RUSSIAN DIRECTOR ANDREI KONCHALOVSKY BRINGS ACCLAIMED CHECKOV PRODUCTIONS TO LONDON’S WEST END

UNCLE VANYA & THREE SISTERS

The internationally renowned film/theatre director, producer and screenwriter Andrei Konchalovsky will transfer his productions of Anton Checkov’s UNCLE VANYA and THREE SISTERS from Moscow’s Moccobeta State Academic Theatre to London’s Wyndham’s Theatre between 23 April and 3 May 2014.

Feeding an increasing appetite for international theatre in London, with extended seasons of Russian Ballet at the Coliseum and a growing number of foreign language productions in the West End, UNCLE VANYA & THREE SISTERS will be performed in their original Russian with English surtitles. Andrei Konchalovsky has utilized the same setting and cast for both productions, drawing on the striking similarities between Checkov’s two most celebrated plays.

Speaking about transferring both productions to London Andrei Konchalovsky said "I am delighted to bringing these two Russian productions to London's West End. No matter how many times you appeal to Chekhov, he is inexhaustible. Every time his work is seen on stage, you find something unnoticed, unexperienced and undiscovered"

** Please note all performances are in Russian with English subtitles **
