This powerful love story, set on a South Pacific island during World War ll, is brought thrillingly to life in an epic new five-star production directed by Chichester Festival Theatre’s Artistic Director Daniel Evans (Me and My Girl and Fiddler on the Roof). With a sensational cast of over thirty led by Julian Ovenden (Bridgerton, Downton Abbey, Merrily We Roll Along and Grand Hotel) and a full orchestra, this ravishing musical is set to be the must-see theatrical event of the year.
Boasting one of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most memorable scores, this much-loved Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical features songs such as Some Enchanted Evening, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair and Bali Ha’i.

South Pacific announces Summer 2022 run at London’s Sadler’s Wells
It has been announced that Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific will head to London for a strictly limited Summer season at Sadler’s Wells Theatre. The critically acclaimed production is heading to the West End following its sold-out run at Chichester Festival Theatre and will star Julian Ovenden and Gina Beck who will reprise their roles. TONY AWARD WINNER PAULO SZOT IN SOUTH PACIFIC
Paulo Szot is set to take to the stage again for his Tony-winning performance as Emile de Becque in the London transfer of Bartlett Sher's production of South Pacific, which begins performances at London's Barbican Theatre from 15th August for a run through to 1st October, prior to a U.K. national tour. He will be joined by Samantha Womack, previously known as Samantha Janus, as Nellie Forbush.
